It was a hot one and it was a fun one! The setting was a stunning National Trust property – Calke Abbey in their The Riding School, which is an amazing, rustic barn venue.
I joined Jen and Adam for their Drinks Reception and Wedding Breakfast, where I both sang and hosted.
Now the hot reference – it was the hottest day of the year, heading up towards the mid 30s; and considering the heat, I think we all did very well to party as much as we did during the daytime!
After their drinks outside in the courtyard, we moved through to sit down. I announced Jen and Adam in to rapturous applause and cheers whilst I played their entrance song of choice: Paradise by George Ezra. I then followed with singing sets between their courses, culminating in a very raucous and slightly sweaty final set, which saw most of the guests standing on their chairs bellowing out, Sweet Caroline, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You and Country Roads!!
